Why Choose Zahava Friedman Speech Therapy?

1. Results: I have extensive training and experience, and a natural ability to connect with even the most challenging children.  Each session is tailored for your child by building on individual strengths and providing engaging activities designed to address weaknesses identified in an initial evaluation. This is particularly important in pediatric therapy because together we will be making the most of your child's stages of development. I will teach you how to apply therapy techniques with your child on a daily basis to leverage what they learn in weekly therapy sessions.

2. Behavioral improvement: When children have difficulty communicating, they often experience frustration, which can lead to behavioral issues. With the development of communication skills, these behaviors tend to subside. Building communication skills builds confidence, which is key to opening doors for your child now and in the future.

3. Home based and family centered: Besides the convenience of speech therapy in your own home, research shows that practicing skills in a “natural” or familiar environment facilitates progress. My approach to home-based therapy incorporates everyday routines and materials, making it easier for you to become an active participant in your child's progress.

4. No limitations:  My services are not limited by constraints imposed by insurance companies or public school systems.

Initial Phone Consultation

(free)

If you have concerns about your child's communication development, an initial phone consultation will help clarify next steps. Zahava can answer questions about what is expected developmentally at your child's current age to help you determine if intervention is the right path. You will also learn more about what therapy entails, your role in the process, and what makes Zahava different from other speech therapists.

Evaluation

If your child has not yet had a complete speech and language evaluation, an assessment is the place to start. An evaluation will reveal a student's strengths and areas of need, clarify what goal areas would be most impactful, and inform intervention strategies. Evaluations range from 75-120 minutes plus an in-person or zoom summary and explanation of findings, a detailed report, recommendations, and goal suggestions.
